Super! Exploring the homoerotic subtext of the superhero culture.
Comicbook art by me in a show I'm curating.
If you grew up with comics and graphic novels, you may have noticed the evidence: The incredible bodies in flamboyant and skin-tight outfits. The leading of double lives. The intense male/ male relationships. The strange, unusual and even "unnatural" powers. Maybe it was the lack of positive gay role models in the mainstream culture or maybe all superheroes ARE kinda gay.

Exhibition runs from: Sunday June 2nd to Sept 25th.
Gallery Opening: Sunday June 2nd 6- to 9pm
GLCC 210 Grant St. PGH, PA 15219

Celebrate Visual AIDS' 25th Anniversary @ the 15th Annual Postcards From the Edge. January 25-27, 2013.

Known within the art world as the most exciting and affordable way to add to a collection, Postcards From the Edge offers a unique opportunity for buyers to acquire original, postcard-sized artwork.
Postcards From the Edge is a Visual AIDS benefit show and sale of original, postcard-sized works on paper by established and emerging artists. All works are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The works are signed on the back and exhibited so the artists' signatures cannot be seen. While buyers receive a list of all participating artists, they don't know who created which piece until purchased. All proceeds support the programs of Visual AIDS.

A collaboration of Art & Drag
See work by me in a show I am curating:
"Drag" can be understood gender bending or gender illusion entertainment that has the power to question, to liberate, and to push boundaries, much like the power of art. Art and drag are both concerned with aesthetics and transformation. Visual artists and drag performers operate on the fringe of society, giving them a unique perspective to explore their creativity and expression. Pittsburgh is lucky to have such a rich and talented drag community as well as a talented and rich art community. In this show, Drag Queens and Kings have collaborated with visual artists to create "royal" portraiture.

Exhibition runs from: Sunday December 2nd to January 27th.
Gallery Opening: Sunday December 2nd 6- to 9pm
GLCC 210 Grant St. PGH, PA 15219

Most Wanted: Internationally
I was asked by the gallery, Most Wanted Fine Art, to curate an art show of International artists, especially women artists. I thought of these ladies. We all met on a fan discussion board about 5 years ago. We kept in touch on the fan board and through various other social networks. (Deviant Art, Myspace, Facebook, MSN, etc.) Over the years I have seen these ladies produce art (drawings, paintings, photos, designs) and I have witnessed them grow and mature into impressive creative talents. This is the result:

This will be the first time many of them have shown in America. In a few cases the first time they have shown in a gallery setting at all. For more info about the individual artists check the facebook event here. Take some time to check it out, Friday Sept 5th as part of Unblurred. As always Most Wanted throws a great opening party with Grand Snafu and Wilhelm Winery.
